Established in Sheffield over 85 years ago George H Cook is today an important part of the global distribution network of the leading Italian special steel producer COGNE ACCIAI SPECIALI.

Known throughout the UK engineering industry as “COOKS”, the company holds a leading position in the supply of TOOL STEELS and STAINLESS STEELS from its distribution centres in Sheffield and Coventry.

Together the two warehouses carry a combined stock of 2000 tonnes of Tool Steel, Stainless Steel and other special steel products. A wide range of grades and sizes is held to suit every application with material being cut to customers’ requirements on the extensive range of saws and delivered by the company’s own fleet of vehicles.

COOKS also supplies many “specials” involving forging or rolling non-standard items. Machining is a further speciality; whether turning, milling or grinding, COOKS can offer a comprehensive service.

Supporting all this is COOKS commitment to quality shown in its accreditation to BS EN ISO 9001 : 2000. As part of the COGNE group, the company is able to offer customers the services of the group technical department.
